When someone contributes a part to a larger story posted on Develop A Story, they are contributing their part to the shared human experience. While we may have humble beginnings, we will show you the power behind the community, and grow as a company like the stories we create together.

Why We Do This

The people behind Develop A Story believe in the creative power of the community. We are committed to providing a platform for individuals to express themselves by contributing to a story. Through effective utilization of shared creativity and crowdsourcing, we hope to create stories that will entertain, educate, and inspire greater creativity. Our organizational effort was inspired by a simple project of a truly excellent English teacher. In high school english, this teacher began by asking one student to write a paragraph of fiction on a piece of paper. The student was then to pass that paper to the student on their right to continue the story. The story that arose from that piece of paper was as diverse as the students in the class, yet arose from the context of an educational exercise. We designed this site to harness the creative power of the internet and create stories for everyone to share. We hope that everyone enjoys the site as much as we do. Develop A Story is dedicated to the memory of Mr. Sullivan and the inspiration he gave to others.
